OK...So...Um....let's get started...um....

As a voice and communication coach I have watched hundreds and hundreds of presentations and they often, very often, start with these three little words: OK... So... Um... And that's OK, it's not bad.... it's just not very inspiring. It doesn't give the audience great confidence in you, it doesn't make them feel like you really know what you are about to say, (even if you do!)

Naming my coaching company OKSoUm was a no-brainer, it encapsulates that magic space where we jump off the cliff into the unknown. We don't know what's going to happen, how the speech or presentation or idea will land with the audience. It's the moment of magic, thrill and excitement, and unfortunately sometimes crippling nerves.​​

As an experienced voice, breath and communication coach, I have helped thousands of clients harness the power of their breath and become inspiring confident communicators.
It strikes me as no coincidence that the breath we need to stay alive is the same breath we use to speak. Working with breath to articulate your thoughts will empower you to be articulate and 'present'. Great spoken communication requires the connection of thought, breath and speech and I can teach you how to use the breathing mechanism to power your voice, stay calm and be the best version of yourself.

Why Breath?
Knowing how to breathe properly is essential for maintaining overall health and well-being. Increasing oxygen flow to the body, enhances energy levels and improves mental clarity. We also know that good breathing can reduce stress and anxiety, promoting greater emotional balance. And importantly as communicators, understanding how to use the breath well to power your voice can improve speech, allowing for better communication and confidence in expressing oneself.
